This award-winning Lafayette renovation completely transformed an existing home into a vibrant, highly functional mid-century modern residence designed around the homeowners’ lifestyle and love of timeless architecture. Every room was thoughtfully reimagined, including a substantial addition that expanded the home’s footprint while maintaining the clean architectural character and seamless indoor-outdoor connection that defines great mid-century modern homes.
To create the spacious kitchen the family envisioned, the garage was relocated toward the front of the home, allowing for a dramatic new kitchen, walk-in pantry, laundry room, and powder room. Every square foot of the house was redesigned to improve flow, maximize storage, and create spaces that feel both beautiful and effortless to live in.
Throughout the home, warm walnut cabinetry is paired with painted cabinetry, clean architectural lines, bold lighting, textured tile, and carefully layered finishes that celebrate classic mid-century design while feeling fresh and current. The open-concept kitchen serves as the heart of the home, featuring generous entertaining space, abundant storage, custom cabinetry, and thoughtfully integrated appliances.
The living spaces embrace bold color, texture, and iconic mid-century details while remaining warm and highly livable. Every room was carefully layered to reflect the homeowners’ personality without sacrificing function, creating a home that feels both curated and effortlessly comfortable
The primary suite offers a luxurious spa-inspired retreat with a freestanding soaking tub, oversized walk-in shower, custom vanity, and striking geometric tile. The children’s bathroom was designed to comfortably accommodate two growing boys with durable finishes, generous storage, and a layout built for everyday family life. Even the laundry room and powder room became opportunities to introduce personality, color, and functional design details that make everyday routines more enjoyable.
